Lady Brown believes art is a beacon to an alternative universe, where creativity releases our true self. That the essence of art stimulates growth and reflection while unveiling meaningful themes and subject matter to the viewer.

Inspired by waves of intrusive thoughts, Lady Brown explores the ebb and flow of mental health. Her subject matter is a romanticized examination of depression and how one can manipulate the narrative. The challenge is deconstructing misery into a stoic piece. Some subjects are an exaggeration of this concept while others are visually melancholy. Utilizing African and Japanese culture as her muse, Sandrine reflects on her lived experiences creating detailed illustrations about their encounters. Her goal is to inspire those who see my work to be more empathetic towards themselves and the world around them. To be vulnerable and to know that they are not alone.
